Water Supply Announces Top Finishers in its 7th Annual Keiki Water Conservation Poster Contest
HAWAIʻI ISLAND – Hawai‘i Island public school students, charter school students, private school students, and homeschoolers displayed their water conservation knowledge and artistic creativity by entering the 7th Annual Keiki Water Conservation Poster Contest held by the Department of Water Supply (DWS), County of Hawai‘i.
Open to K-6 students, the contest drew nearly 200 entries from 12 schools. “Being Water Wise Is …” was the contest theme to emphasize the importance of conserving drinking water to protect and preserve the island’s most precious resource now and for future generations. Poster entries were judged, and the top three finishers from each grade level, provided there were sufficient entries, were awarded prizes and recognition. DWS extends its appreciation to all the students and their teachers for learning about water conservation.
Please visit www.hawaiidws.org/dws-water-conservation-poster-contest-2025/ to view all the poster entries. The top finishers’ posters are on public display at the County’s Aupuni Center, located at 101 Pauahi Street in Hilo, through June 30. Also, DWS plans to feature select entries in its 2026 calendar. The Department’s mission is to provide customers with an adequate and continuous supply of safe drinking water in a financially responsible manner.
