Mahalo to the Big Island community for the incredible support shown during the 1st Annual “Fill a Police Cruiser” Back-to-School Supply Drive
The Hawaiʻi Police Department’s Kona Community Policing Section extends its heartfelt mahalo to the Big Island community for the incredible support shown during the 1st Annual “Fill a Police Cruiser” Back-to-School Supply Drive, held on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at the Kona Walmart.
Thanks to the generosity of our community, the event was an overwhelming success. Together, we raised more than $1,255 in monetary donations and collected over 2,336 school supply items that will help local students and families prepare for the upcoming school year.
These outstanding results would not have been possible without the dedication and partnership of our sponsors and volunteers, including Kona Walmart, the Hawaiʻi Police Department’s Kona Community Policing Section, Catholic Charities Hawaiʻi (Kona Branch), and Aloha M.A.P. (Mauritius Achievement Programs).
We would also like to extend a very special mahalo to The Roberts Foundation and the Ironman Triathlon for their generous additional donations. Their support played a significant role in helping us exceed our goals and expand our impact throughout the West Hawaiʻi community.
Every donated school supply and every dollar contributed will help ensure that local keiki have the tools they need to begin the new school year with confidence and success.
To everyone who donated, volunteered, or helped spread the word—thank you. Your kindness, generosity, and community spirit made this event a meaningful success. We are sincerely grateful for your local support and look forward to working together again at our 2nd Annual “Fill a Police Cruiser” Back-to-School Supply Drive next year.
Mahalo Nui Loa for helping us make a lasting difference in the lives of our West Hawaiʻi families.
