This is a COVID-19 informational update for Monday morning, May 11th.
On today’s report of COVID-19, the total number of people tested positive for Hawaii Island is 75. From this, 74 have been cleared as recovered with the remaining 1 being quarantined at home and monitored by the Department of Health. At this date, for Hawaii Island, no one is hospitalized.
These are very good numbers for Hawaii Island and Hawaii State, so much gratitude to the health care family for their guidance, hard work, and care. So proud of Hawaii State, being the number 1 in the nation of testing per capita, and in the top three states of having the lowest active cases identified.
These numbers reinforce the importance of following the policies of prevention. We need to continue and get better to keep Hawaii Safe and stop this virus from affecting the beautiful lifestyle of Hawaii.
For your information, drive-thru testing will be conducted in Hilo today at the Civic Center, hours are from 9 this morning till 1 this afternoon. Testing also in South Kona at the Keauhou shopping center, hours are from 8 this morning till 12 noon. Thank you Premier Medical and Ali’i Health for doing this free service.
A food drop off will be held today in Ka’u at Kahuku Park in Hawaiian Ocean View, hours are from 10 this morning till 12 noon. Thank you Hawaii Food Basket, Hawaii National Guard, and the County Task Force for helping.
