COVID-19 informational update for Sunday, June 7th.
On today’s report of COVID-19, the number of active cases for Hawaii Island stands at zero. An active case is defined by the Department of Health as an individual who has tested positive for the COVID-19 virus and is being monitored.
As the Island and State of Hawaii goes forward, please know the importance of continuing to follow the policies of physical distancing, gatherings, face coverings, and cleanliness. As an example of the importance of continuing these policies the Department of Health has reported that the Island of Oahu has seen 18 new cases over the past two days. This increase came after several weeks of a downward trend of new Coronavirus cases on Oahu.
In moving forward, know that the Coronavirus threat is still out there and we must continue to follow the preventive policies to protect yourself and the community. The Island of Hawaii is in a great place. Please continue doing your part to stop this virus.
