Steven Tyler’s rocking island time in Hawaii

But before he took part in the laid-back set, Tyler headlined a packed concert at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center’s A&B Amphitheater in Kahului late last week. The Loving Mary Band, a country band that’s long backed him up on the occasions he’s gone solo, joined him for the performance. They all played plenty of Aerosmith hits, including “Dream On” and “Walk This Way”, as well as riffs on other classic rock tracks from bands like Led Zeppelin and the aforementioned Beatles. Aside from Tyler, the concert also had Willie K warming up the crowd as the show’s opener, accompanied by Rhodes, Kris Thomas and Jerry Breyer. The native Hawaiian was brought back on stage to do his thing with Tyler later in the night.
The show wasn’t the only reason Tyler is in Maui. As true fans know, the rocker is well-acquainted with the island and he actually owns a little piece of Pacific paradise. He has a 3,000-square-foot, waterfront home located on a nature preserve in Wailea that he reportedly purchased for $4.8 million in 2012.
