Hawaii State Art Museum celebrates native cultures with ‘Pasifika Night’
HONOLULU — The Hawaii State Art Museum and the Honolulu Mayor’s Office on Culture and the Arts are hosting Paina Poalima “Pasifika Night” on Friday, July 22 at 6 p.m.
The live music series strives to celebrate Native Hawaiian and Pacific Island cultures. This month’s theme, Pasifika Night, will feature performances from Papua New Guinea, Bougainville, Fiji, the Marshall Islands, Tonga and Hawaii. Performers include Pesefea Fiaseu Jr., Liam Moleta, Kaehu, The Pacific Way, and Tevaiura Nui.
Paina Poalima is free to the public and all ages are welcome. Museum galleries will be open and free to the public. Food and beverages are also available from Bus U Up, Sweet Rejoice, Destash Hawaii, and Kapa Kava.
