House passes 226 Senate bills before second crossover

Ahead of Thursday’s second crossover deadline, the state House of Representatives passed 77 Senate bills on Tuesday, including prominent measures on electronic smoking devices, child welfare services, teleworking, firearms and destination management.


What You Need To Know

    • The bills will head back to the Senate for further consideration; if the Senate disagrees with House amendments to any of the bills, those bills will be negotiated later in conference committees
    • So far, the House has amended, passed on third reading and returned 213 Senate bills; 13 other Senate bills passed the House unamended
    • SB 725 SD2 HD2 was introduced to help state departments implement and maximize the state’s new telework policy
  • SB 1230 SD2 HD1 establishes sensitive places where firearms are prohibited and restricts the carrying of firearms in certain circumstances
