Hawaii part of $102.5M Suboxone settlement
Hawaii is expected to receive about $1 million from a nationwide settlement with Indivior, Inc., the maker of the opioid-treatment medication Suboxone, state Attorney General Anne Lopez announced on Monday.
Forty-two attorneys general, including Lopez, negotiated a $102.5 million settlement with the drug manufacturer. The complaint stated that the company had used illegal means to preserve its monopoly over the drug. Specifically, the states alleged that Indivior tried to switch the Suboxone market from tablets to film while attempting to destroy the market for tablets.
A trial had been scheduled to begin in September.
