This is a post-event Fire Weather message for Friday, September 1st at 12 noon.

The ban on outdoor burning and outdoor open flame activity for leeward districts of Hawaii Island has been lifted.

Camping at all County parks has been reinstated.

However, fire dangers still exist for all areas of Hawaii Island, especially for dry leeward areas.

Those planning to do outdoor activities that involve an open flame, please take precautionary measures of having water or fire extinguishers on site and readily accessible, to help prevent the spread of fire.

Please avoid parking of vehicles on dry grass after travel.
