The National Weather Service has issued a High Surf Advisory for West Facing Shores of Kohala, Kona, and Kau District(s) of Hawaii Island through Thursday night.
A High Surf Advisory means surf will be higher than normal. Shore breaks and dangerous currents could cause injury or death.
Mahukona Beach Park is Closed due to the high surf.
Beach-goers, swimmers, and surfers should heed all advice given by ocean safety officials and exercise caution when entering the water.
