Police respond to shooting in Hilo
Police, fire and emergency medical personnel responded at about 1:40 p.m. today to a report of a shooting at a Kaiwiki Road home in Hilo.
Immediate details were sketchy but there was an unconfirmed report that a woman was shot by her husband. Her condition is unknown.
Officers cordoned off the scene and detectives were gathering evidence.
A neighbor, who declined to provide his name, told the Tribune-Herald he was working outside and heard what sounded like several gunshots from a semi-automatic weapon.
