KUPUNA Shopping Hours
Costco, Kona: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 8 a.m. to 9 a.m., kupuna 60 years or older may enter. Costco says they will require IDs to verify age. Costco manager stressed that only kupuna, not younger family members, may enter, though if a kupuna has a caregiver, they will be able to accompany the member.
Several other stores are either requiring IDs or just asking people to respect the kupuna special shopping hours.
KTAs islandwide:
KTA Express, South Kona: Kupuna Time, Sundays and Wednedays, 6 a.m. to 7 a.m.
KTA Hilo Downtown: Kupuna Time, Sundays and Wednesdays 7 a.m. til 8 a.m.
KTA, Keauhou: Kupuna Time, Sundays and Wednesdays, 6 am til 7 am
KTA, Palani Road: Kupuna Time, Sundays and Wednesdays, 5 a.m. til 6 a.m.
KTA Puainako: Kupuna Time, IDs requested, 60 and above, Sundays and Wednesdays, 5:30 a.m. til 6:30 a.m.
KTA Waikoloa Village: Kupuna Time, Sundays and Wednesdays, 6 a.m til 7 a.m.
KTA Waimea: Kupuna Time, IDs requested, 60 and above, Sunday and Monday, 6 a.m. til 7 a.m.
Foodland/Sack and Save, all stores: Kupuna Time, IDs requested, 60 and above, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, 6 a.m. til 7 a.m., kupuna get 5% discount during the 6 a.m. til 6 a.m. hour
Target: Reserving the first hour on Wednesdays for kupuna, pregnant women, and those with underlying health issues as defined by the CDC. Kona and Hilo, Wednesdays 7 a.m. til 8 a.m. (Regular store hours now 7 a.m. til 9 p.m.)
Safeway Kona and Hilo: Shoppers are asked to respect kupuna, Tuesdays and Thursday, 6 a.m. til 9 a.m.
Walmart Hilo and Kona: Shoppers asked to respect kupuna, Tuesdays, 6 a.m. til 7 a.m. (Regular store hours now 7 a.m til 8:30 p.m.)
