Lost Hikers…Rescued….Report
coastal Honu’apo area
2 out of state visitors, 60s male and 60s female lost off of coastal trail. Parties found 100 yards off dirt road in tall dense grass unable to return to vehicle on own.
Company 11 responded to scene, met with HPD at parties vehicle parked outside of locked gate on Highway 11. HFD and HPD searched surrounding area and found parties 3/4 miles NE of Honu’apo Point. Party located in tall, dense grass 100 yards inland from dirt road. Male party extricated by Chopper 1 utilizing Billy Pugh net to awaiting Medic personnel. Both parties evaluated by EMS.
Rough coastal area with limited trail/road access.
