This is a COVID-19 information update for Thursday morning, May 7th.

On today’s report of COVID-19 the total number of people who tested positive for Hawaii Island remains at 74.  From this, 72 have been cleared as recovered with the remaining 2 quarantined at home and monitored by the Department of Health.  At this date, for Hawaii Island no one is hospitalized.

For your information, a drive thru testing will be conducted in South Kona today at the Keauhou Shopping Center.  Hours are from 8 this morning till 12 noon.  Thank you, Ali’i Health for conducting this free service and Hawaii Army National Guard and County Task Force for assisting.

A food drop off will be held today in South Kohala at the Waimea District Park.  Hours are 10 this morning till 12 noon.  Thank you, Hawaii Food Basket and the multitude of people and organizations that make this very needed service possible.  Thank you, Hawaii County Police, the Hawaii Army National Guard and Sheriff department for helping.

Know that all the policies of distancing, gatherings, face coverings, cleanliness, and personal health remains in effect.  Your help is needed to keep Hawaii Safe.  Hawaii Island and State of Hawaii are doing very well in minimizing the spread and the impact of the coronavirus.  We need to all do our part and get better so we can keep Hawaii safe and stop this virus from affecting the beautiful lifestyle of Hawaii.
