This is a COVID-19 informational update for Saturday morning, May 9th.

On today’s report of COVID-19, the total number of people tested positive for Hawaii Island is 74.  From this, 72 have been cleared as recovered with the remaining 2 quarantined at home and monitored by the Department of Health.  At this date, for Hawaii Island, no one is hospitalized.

For your information, a drive through testing will be conducted in North Kohala today at the Kamehameha Park.  Hours are from 10 this morning ‘til 2 this afternoon.   A drive through testing will also be conducted in South Kona today at the Pottery Terrace.  Hours are from 8 this morning ‘til 12 noon.  Testing services are free.  Thank you, Premier Medical and Aloha Kona Urgent Care for this service.

Hawaii Island and State are doing very well in minimizing the spread and impact of the coronavirus.  We need to continue to follow the policies of distancing, gatherings, face coverings, cleanliness, and keeping yourself physically and emotionally healthy as best as you can.  Look out for each other.  Be well and please wear your mask.
