Alert: Hydrologic Outlook issued July 23 at 4:00PM HST by NWS Honolulu

…HURRICANE DOUGLAS WILL BRING THE POTENTIAL FOR HEAVY RAINS AND
FLASH FLOODING THIS WEEKEND…
The latest forecast from the National Hurricane Center indicates
that the center of Hurricane Douglas is expected to move near or
over portions of the main Hawaiian Islands this weekend. The
potentially close passage of this cyclone to the state may result
in very heavy rainfall and flash flooding. The heavy rainfall
should progress westward across the chain, possibly beginning as
early as Saturday night.
Keep up to date with the latest forecast information through the
internet (weather.gov/hawaii), local media, social media, or NOAA
Weather Radio broadcasts.
An updated outlook will be issued by 5 AM HST on Friday or sooner
if necessary.
