MISSING PERSON REPORT….Forest North of Stainback Hwy

1 injured/2 rescued

4×4, UTV, ATV, HEAVY REWSCUE 2, RESCUE 2, Chopper 1

17 HFD personnel

2 Missing Maile pickers. Dense forrest with little access roads. Rain, wind and cold temperatures

HFD and DLNR Search and Rescue Teams searched late Thursday night and at first light Friday morning to locate and recover 2 missing maile pickers from a heavily wooded area off of Stainback Hwy. Utilizing air and ground crews HFD personnel were able to locate and safely extricate the 2 men. One of the men was transported to Hilo Medical center for a knee injury.
