Honokohau Mauka Boat Ramp .. Truck & Trailer Submerged

Upon arrival at Honokohau Harbor Rescue Co.7 met up with the owner of a black 2019 Toyota Tacoma Double cab with EZ Loader trailer still attached and submerged in approximately 10 feet of water at the North Mauka Ramp.
Cause is Under investigation by DLNR.
The sole occupant had placed his vessel into the water and exited the vehicle to secure it to the dock. At some point during that process the unocupied vehicle and trailer made it’s way down the ramp and into approximately 10 feet of water. A private tow company was called at the request and expense of the owner. Rescue 7 divers assisted the tow company with securing the vehicle for extrication. It was determined that the vehicle was in park with the E-brake on and the cause of the incident is still under investigation by DLNR. The truck and trailer was removed without incident. The owner was uninjured.
