This is a COVID-19 informational update for Wednesday, September 8th.
For Hawaii County, the Department of Health reports 95 new cases, and 1,705 active cases, with 55 persons hospitalized.
Do know that coronavirus is being transmitted island wide in our communities and your help is needed to stop the spread. Please follow the preventive measures of wearing a face covering, maintaining distance of 6 feet from others and limiting gatherings to ten persons. You can help stop the virus by getting vaccinated.
On testing, for Wednesday testing will be in Hilo at the Afook Chinen Civic from 2 ‘til 6 this afternoon. On Thursday vaccination and testing will be in North Kona at the Kona Aquatics Center from 10 AM to 2PM and in Hilo at the Afook Chinen Civic from 11AM to 4PM.
