This is a COVID-19 informational update for Friday, October 8^th.

For Hawaii County, Department of Health reports 39 new cases and 643 active cases, with 14 persons hospitalized.

Mahalo for continuing the preventive measures of face masks, distancing, limiting gatherings, and washing your hands frequently with soap and water.  Your kokua is making a difference.

For today, Friday, Community Testing is scheduled in Puna at Pahoa District Park from 1 pm to 3 pm and in North Kona at the Kona Aquatic Center from 1 pm to 5 pm.

For tomorrow, Saturday, testing will be available in Hilo at Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium and in South Kohala at Waimea District Park.  Both will be open from 9 am to 1 pm.
