This is a COVID-19 informational update for Tuesday, January 4th.
For Hawaii County, the Department of Health reports 120 new cases, 1935 active cases, and 18 persons hospitalized.
Know that Coronavirus is being transmitted throughout our community and we must slow the spread. Do your part, make it your kuleana to protect our Ohana and follow the preventive measures of wearing face coverings, distancing, disinfecting your hands, limiting and avoiding gatherings, and staying home; especially when sick. If you feel sick or believe you may have been exposed to a positive case, please get tested.
For testing, the following County Community Testing operation is available today. In Hilo at the Afook Chinen Civic from 12 pm ‘til 7 pm.

The Department of Health recommends getting vaccinated and getting a booster shot to protect yourself, your family and friends. Vaccinations are available daily Monday through Friday at the Hilo Medical Center from 8 am to 4 pm.
