Maui County’s Department of Water Supply is asking residents of Maui Nui to conserve water as much as possible during dry summer months as the county faces severe to extreme drought conditions.

The Dept. of Water Supply reports that the dry conditions are affecting surface water supplies in West Maui
Drought and wildfire conditions are affecting all islands and are expected to worsen in the coming summer months
The drought monitor tracks conditions on a weekly basis and data released on June 2 showed areas of extreme drought on Molokai, Kahoolawe, Maui and Hawaii Island
Residents being asked to conserve water as much as possible
The Dept. of Water Supply isn’t declaring a water shortage for the time being. However, it may be a necessary step in the coming weeks if current conditions continue.
