DOH to begin scheduling monkeypox vaccinations

Starting Wednesday, Hawaii residents age 18 or older who are at a higher risk of monkeypox infection or severe illness will be able to make an appointment for monkeypox vaccination via the state Department of Health.


What You Need To Know

    • The state has so far received 1,400 doses of the JYNNEOS vaccine from the Strategic National Stockpile and is distributing the vaccine to health care providers in each county
    • Appointment scheduling is not available through individual providers
    • DOH and its vaccine partners are prioritizing first doses for as many eligible people as possible
  • On Saturday, the World Health Organization labeled monkeypox a “public health emergency of international concern”

 

The state has so far received 1,400 doses of the JYNNEOS vaccine from the Strategic National Stockpile and is distributing the vaccine to health care providers in each county. DOH expects that demand will be greater than the limited supply. Additional doses will be distributed as the state receives further allocations.
