HFD Co.8, Volunteer Co.8A and HPD units responded to a structure fire in Waipio Valley. Additional resources were dispatched ahead of arrival including multiple 4X4 HFD Brush Truck Units, Chopper 1 & Fuel Truck 2 support due to limited access on the Valley floor. Upon arrival on scene, units discovered an approximate 20′ by 30′ structure 80 percent burned, with an extended burn perimeter of approx 15′ in all directions of green foilage and trees. Fire suppression efforts conductued with fire pumps drafting from a nearby river and water bucket drops from Chopper 1. Fire was declared out, and the scene is under investigation. No injuries occured on scene.
