Chaminade names Chad Konishi coach for resurrected baseball program
HONOLULU — Chad Konishi is moving down the hall.
The former University of Hawaii assistant coach, who has been at Saint Louis School as an athletic director for the last three years, is the new head coach of Chaminade’s restarted baseball program, the Silverswords announced Tuesday.
Konishi, who will be formally introduced in mid-October, will be in charge of putting together a team in time for the 2024 season in NCAA Division II. The Silverswords baseball team previously existed for only the 1980 and 1981 seasons under coach Leroy Goo before it was shuttered due to financial concerns.
Saint Louis and Chaminade share a campus on the Kalaepohaku hillside.
