Rainbow Wahine volleyball team begins road trip with sweep of UC San Diego
With the home stretch of the Big West season in sight, the Hawaii women’s volleyball team was in no mood to mess around Friday night at UC San Diego’s Lion Tree Arena.
First-place UH matched its quickest outing of the season – 1 hour, 20 minutes – in a 25-14, 25-19, 25-15 sweep of the Tritons, dispatching the hosts more efficiently than in a four-set win at the Stan Sheriff Center on Oct. 8.
Riley Wagoner recorded a 14-kill, 11-dig double-double on .482 hitting and middle Amber Igiede hit .571 and put down 12 kills while equaling her career high of three solo blocks. Libero Tayli Ikenaga had 10 digs.
