HELE-ON PROVIDES FREE ROYALE SUBSCRIPTIONS IN TRANSIT APP FOR ALL RIDERS

Hele-On offers upgraded Transit app experience to all customers wanting to plan the bus trip, track their bus trip, unlock bicycles and more.

The County of Hawai’i Mass Transit Agency is upgrading all its riders to Royale, the premium subscription in the Transit app – Hele-On’s app for riders to plan and track their trips. Today, Hele-On joins systems across the world in gifting Royale to all its riders, with more agencies planning announcements in the coming months.

Beginning today, Hele-On riders are automatically upgraded in the app with a free Royale subscription, which unlocks additional features, special Hele-On branding, new customization options, and complete access to the app across the more than 300 cities supported worldwide.

With Royale, riders have access to power features such as customizable themes, as well as personalized emoji avatars that allow riders to become celebrities on their local bus line and leaderboards for users competing to help the most riders with crowd -sourcing.

This partnership also unlocks the special ability for riders to switch the app icon and theme to match Hele-On’s branding – offering riders a world-class mobile app experience that is at once universal and locally-branded.

Riders already use Transit every day to plan and track their trips. With Royale, Hele-On is deepening its partnership with Transit to provide a top-rated mobility app free of advertising.

The Hele-On app in partnership with Transit allows passengers to plan a trip on a Hele-On bus using the trip planner, track a Hele-On bus on selected routes, unlock a HIBIKE or schedule an Uber or Lyft ride.  With Transit, if you travel to other areas in the United States, the app will work on any transit system that has a General Transit Feed Specification or GTFS. In some cases, you can even pay your fares on the app.

“We are finding ways to make it easier for people to use Hele-On. The tool, along with our route information in Google, Apple and Bing Maps and the Moovit app gives you the power to get from a to b and all points in between on our island” stated John Andoh, Mass Transit Administrator and General Manager.

Transit is available in the App Store or Google Play, or by visiting www.transitapp.com.
