UH scores coveted New Zealand combo guard

Showing off its Trans-Pacific recruiting reach, the University of Hawaii men’s basketball team has signed New Zealand combo guard Tom Beattie, head coach Eran Ganot announced on Monday.


What You Need To Know

    • Beattie, a 6-foot-5, 200-pound combo guard, is the first prep player to sign with the Rainbow Warriors this offseason
    • As a senior, Beattie averaged 27.4 points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals per game for Rosmini College
    • He played two seasons with the Auckland Tuatara of the New Zealand National Basketball League and competed for the Junior Tall Blacks representing New Zealand in U18, U19 and U20 play
  • Beattie is just the third recruit from New Zealand in Rainbow Warriors history
