Deadline to enroll in temporary emergency lodging is Sept. 15
LAHAINA, Hawaii — Maui wildfire survivors have until Sept. 15 to enroll in the American Red Cross’ temporary emergency housing through a non-congregate sheltering program.
The Red Cross urges eligible households to contact the organization at 1-800-733-2767. The agency made the announcement in a joint press release with the Hawaii Emergency Management Agency Friday.
The NCS program offers lodging in hotels and other properties instead of group shelters. Anyone who wishes to sign up must do so no later than 5 p.m. Sept. 15. Those who have already signed up will continue to receive shelter and services through the program as long as they are eligible. Qualified applicants do not need to re-register.
