The Hawaiʻi ʻUlu Cooperative is looking for a new Alae postharvest facility manager to lead operations at their Hilo-area facility. This position is a key part of the co-op’s East Hawaiʻi Island operations. The Alae facility manager will coordinate deliveries with farmer-members and intake their produce, oversee ʻulu flour manufacturing, implement the co-op’s food safety plan, and manage other facility users. North American Association of Environmental Education aquaculture literacy mini-grants
The North American Association of Environmental Education (NAAEE) is offering an Aquaculture Literacy Mini-Grant (up to $20,000) to enhance public understanding of aquaculture. Through this mini-grants program, NAAEE supports partnerships sharing the mutual aquaculture literacy goals of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) Office of Education, NOAA Fisheries, and the National Sea Grant Office. These mini-grants will provide informal learning institutions (e.g., aquariums), aquaculture industry (e.g., shellfish, finfish, and seaweed farmers), and NOAA partners with support for the co-development of innovative educational experiences that explore aquaculture topics. Pakini loan fund for small businesses
The new Pakini loan fund program offers small business loans from $1,000 to $30,000 for small businesses in Hawaiʻi. While the Pakini fund prioritizes serving Native Hawaiians living and working in the Waiʻanae Moku on Oʻahu, the program fund is open to all eligible small businesses in Hawaiʻi.
