The Central Pacific Hurricane Center Tropical Storm Watch remains is in effect for Hawaii Island.
A Tropical Storm Watch is issued when tropical storm conditions of dangerous surf, high winds, and flooding rains is possible within 48 hours.
The Central Pacific Hurricane Center has issued a Flood Watch for Hawaii Island effective starting tomorrow, Saturday through Monday.
A Flood Watch means conditions for flash flooding to occur is highly possible.
Due to the Tropical Storm Watch and Flood Watch, please be advised:
- High Surf Advisories or Warnings may be issued for south and east facing shores of Hawaii Island.
- Boat owners and those with shoreline property should begin preparing for possible high surf impacts.
- Residents and businesses should prepare your property for possible heavy rains and flooding.
- Secure loose outdoor items prior to the onset of winds forecast to begin tomorrow.
