Playground Project at Arthur L. Greenwell Park to Begin Aug. 25
The County of Hawai‘i Department of Parks and Recreation announces that a project to redevelop the playground at Arthur L. Greenwell Park in Captain Cook is scheduled to begin Monday, Aug. 25.
The project will involve removing the existing playground equipment and installing new equipment, a synthetic turf safety surfacing system, and reconfigured accessible walkways.
The redesigned playground will feature climbing structures, a basket swing, and benches that are like those found at Kamehameha Park and the Gilbert Kahele Recreation Area.
The project is anticipated to take approximately five months to complete and will result in a playground that meets Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards.
The playground area will be closed during construction, and the public is asked to observe posted safety notices and closures throughout the project.
