KOS organizer Bob Zeller says nearly 20 local nurserymen and artisans will offer products. In addition to potted orchids, gardeners will find cactus, succulents, air plants, anthuriums, heliconia, bonsai, protea, native plants, bamboo, fruit and forest trees.
Also for sale will be a wide variety of crafted merchandise: jewelry—including resin orchid flowers, tropical scenes on wood, clothing, purses, pottery and stained glass. Tasty treats include jams, jellies and Kona coffee.
KONA ORCHID SOCIETY—A non-profit organization, the mission of the Kona Orchid Society is “educating our members and the public about the collection, culture and appreciation of orchids.” Since 1985, KOS has promoted fellowship among orchid enthusiasts. Members include individual hobbyists and commercial growers who meet 6:30 p.m. on the second Friday of the month at the Makua Lani Christian Academy in Kailua-Kona.
