High School Football Player Wins Hearts After Helping Custodian Clean Up Post-Game Mess

After a heated rivalry game in Lafayette, Louisiana, one high school football player’s small act of kindness became the real highlight of the night.

Teurlings Catholic High School running back Hudson Clavelle didn’t just celebrate his team’s win over St. Thomas More—he stayed behind to help clean up the stands.

Head coach Michael Courville snapped a photo of Clavelle holding a trash bag and shared it online, praising the young player’s humility and servant leadership:

“What an incredible night for the Rebels and the entire TCHS community. One of the many reasons I love Teurlings Catholic is the humility and love our students, parents, faculty, and leadership show every day.

Last night, Hudson Clavelle — a first-year football player who just recovered from injury — played on kickoff and then stayed after the game to help our maintenance team pick up trash. Incredible character and servant leadership on display.

I couldn’t be more proud to be a Rebel.”

When asked about it by local news outlet NEWS 15, Clavelle said he simply noticed that the custodian, known affectionately as Mr. B, was cleaning up alone and wanted to lend a hand.

“I see Mr. Brian, we call him ‘Mr. B,’ my custodian, and he’s picking up trash in the bleachers with just a little 5-gallon bucket, and it was just him picking up a bunch of trash, and I just wanted to give him a hand,” Clavelle said.
