Mayor Alameda Lowers Flags to Honor former U.S. Representative Colleen Hanabusa
Mayor Kimo Alameda has ordered all flags on County of Hawaiʻi property to be flown at half-staff in honor of former U.S. Representative and Hawaiʻi State Senate President Colleen Hanabusa, who passed away on March 5.
Flags shall be lowered immediately and remain at half-staff until sunset on Friday, March 13.
“I extend my heartfelt condolences to the family of former Congresswoman Colleen Hanabusa,” said Mayor Kimo Alameda. “She was a dedicated public servant who cared deeply for the people of Hawaiʻi. Throughout her remarkable career, she led with a strong sense of purpose, commitment, and aloha that touched countless lives across our state.”
