KILAUEA VOLCANO WARNING !
This is a Civil Defense message for Tuesday 03-10-2026 at 02:58 PM.
The Hawaiian Volcano Observatory has updated Kilauea volcano’s alert status to WARNING.
A Volcano WARNING means a hazardous eruption is imminent, underway, or suspected.
Due to Kilauea’s Volcano WARNING, please be advised:
- Tephra continues to fall in the National Park and community of Volcano though has diminished from earlier levels.
- Pele’s hair and fine ash are being reported in Hamakua, Hilo and Puna.
- Minimize exposure for personal safety
- Close windows to homes, buildings and vehicles.
- The following evacuation shelter is open: Ka`u District/Robert N. Herkes Gym.
