Closures of Hawai‘i Belt Road near Honoli‘i Bridge
HILO, Dec. 4, 2019 – Hawai‘i Electric Light announces upcoming closures of Hawai‘i Belt Road near Honoli‘i Bridge between Pauka‘a Drive and Nahala Street (mile markers 4 and 5).
The highway will be closed for overnight construction work on Dec. 11 and Dec. 18 from Wednesday night at 9 p.m. to Thursday morning at 5 a.m. to allow crews to replace transmission poles along the highway.
Occasional partial lane closures may be necessary starting Monday, Dec. 9, to prepare for the work. Motorists are advised to drive with caution in the construction area and expect delays. An alternate route is available via Kahoa Street.
