All transfer stations, landfills to be closed on Veterans Day and Thanksgiving

All Hawaii County recycling and transfer stations and landfills will be closed Sunday (Nov. 11) in observance of Veterans Day and Nov. 22 in observance of Thanksgiving.

County officials ask for residents’ kokua. Do not litter or illegally dump any materials at the closed recycling and transfer stations.

Libraries to observe Veterans Day

All Big Island libraries will be closed Monday, Nov. 12, in observance of Veterans Day. However, book drops will be open during closed hours.
