MACKENZIE RECREATION AREA CLIFF RESCUE REPORT

An 18 year old male fell from the cliff’s edge at Mackenzie State Recreational Area while getting ready to night fish.
Uneven terrain, night, rocky cliffs
Company 10, rescue companty 02, medic 18 and battalion 1B were dispatched to a call for an 18 year male who fell off the cliff’s edge while getting ready to fish. On scene his friends and family helped to control bleeding from multiple head, shoulder and leg lacerations until the arrival of company 10 and medic 18. The male party was awake alert and oriented with the tramatic injuries from falling aproximately 20′ to the rocks below. The pt. was treated and monitored until he could be brought up the cliff by rescue company 02. After the pt. was brought up to the stagging area he was further treated and transported to HMC ER via medic 18. No other injuries were reported.
