North Kohala Vehicle/Brush Fire Report

13 HFD apparatus used; 20 Personnel
Roadblocked and detour Hwy 250 and Kawaihae rd.
Company 15 found an actively burning unattended vehicle and a brush fire of approximately 15 acres moving with light winds in difficult to acess terrain moving in a northernly and makai direction, at about the 12 MM of Hwy 270.
Fire was contained at 0530hrs utilizing resources on scene. A burnt motor vehicle was in the suspected area of origin. Operations will be continuing today 9/2/20 utilizing C2. Night watch was setup for Wednesday and monitoring will continue on Thursday. Origin and cause are still under investigation.
Approx 50 acres burned
