Official Report: DROWNING….Puna Coastline off Hwy 137 Aprox 17 MM

Drowning Victim observed floating face down in waters off Puna Coastline, per the reporting party he was on the rocks and swept out into the ocean about 25 minutes prior to Fire Department arrival on scene.
HFD and HPD responded for a drowning victim in the waters off the Puna coastline near the Kapoho-Kalapana road at approximatley the 16-17 mile marker. Life guards from Pohoiki beach as well as C0-10, M-18, C-01 and CO-02 responded for a drowning victim. Upon arrival the person was located by Chopper 1 in the water and brought to awaiting EMS personnel without any signs of life. ALS protocols were initiated but the life saving actions were ceased after protocols deemed the person to be beyond help and with Base Station Physician approval. The scene was left in care of HPD. All other HFD units cleared the scene and remained ready for further emergency calls.
