Utility work to close Lanikaula Street in Hilo
Work scheduled Oct. 4-6, Oct. 12, Oct. 14 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
HILO, Sept. 20, 2022 – Hawaiian Electric utility work will close sections of East Lanikaula Street in Hilo from Tuesday through Thursday, Oct. 4-6, and Wednesday and Friday, Oct. 12 and Oct.14, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Crews will remove and replace five transmission poles on Lanikaula Street. The work will be performed over several days:
- Oct. 4, 5 and 6: Closed between Mililani Street and Manono Street
- Oct. 12: Closed between Iolani Street and Manono Street
- Oct. 14: Closed between Iolani Street and Kilauea Avenue
Motorists are advised to use alternate routes and drive with caution near the work area. Local traffic will have access to homes and businesses.
