Civil Defense Message.
This is a Mauna Loa earthquake damage assessment message for Monday morning, October 17th.
On Friday, October 14th ,the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center reported a 5.0 earthquake on the southeastern flank of Mauna Loa volcano, in the vicinity of Pahala in Ka`u District.
Civil Defense conducted preliminary damage assessments at locations in Pahala that reported damage.
To capture the extent of damages, Civil Defense is requesting residents and businesses that have yet to report damage sustained from Friday’s earthquake to call and report your situation to Civil Defense at 808-935-0031.
