Cause is undetermined
Vacant 1200 square foot, known “squatter” home per
neighbors, single story, nearly fully involved.
Driveway cluttered with rubbish and broken vehicles.
Wood frame approximately 1200 square foot dwelling, built on post and pier, with corrugated
metal roof.
On arrival found a vacant single story dwelling 75-100% involved with fire. Due to structural
collapse imminent, defensive strategy was assumed, no nearby structures were threatened.
Fire was contained without spread to other structures or brush. HELCO arrived on scene to
confirm power lines were de-energized. HPD provided traffic control. Overhaul commenced
after fire was under control.
