Civil Defense message.

This is a Wind Advisory and High Wind Warning message for Tuesday, March 7th at 9:00 in the morning.

The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for all districts of Hawaii Island for Wednesday and Thursday.

A Wind Advisory means sustained winds of 25 to 35 MPH with localized gusts over 50 MPH are expected.

Due to the Wind Advisory;

Please take this time to secure outdoor items.

Winds this strong can impact trees and utility lines and make driving difficult.

The National Weather Service has issued a High Wind Warning for the Summits of Hawaii Island through Sunday.

A High Wind Warning for the summits means sustained winds of 70 to 90 MPH with higher gusts are forecast for areas above 8,000 feet.

Due to the High Wind Warning for the summits and winter weather conditions, summit roads may be closed to the public.
