Hawaii beach volleyball season ends with loss to LMU in NCAA 1st round
Hawaii got to the second day at the NCAA beach volleyball tournament, but that was thanks to Mother Nature.
After its opening match was pushed from Friday to Saturday due to inclement weather, UH, the No. 11 seed in the 17-team event, lost in the first round to No. 6 Loyola Marymount for the second straight year at Gulf Shores, Ala. The Lions used strong play at the Nos. 3, 4 and 5 courts to take the dual match by a 3-1 score.
Only UH’s team at the No. 2 court, Riley Wagoner and Kylin Loker notched a win as they beat Abbey Thorup and Kristine Garder, 21-17, 21-17.
