DOBOR ALERT Important Message: The National Weather Service forecasts that Tropical Storm Calvin will likely move into the eastern half of the State from Tuesday night into Wednesday morning near the Big Island, then pass on a westerly track south of Maui County, Oahu, and Kauai. Boaters should continue to monitor the system: https://www.weather.gov/hfo

High winds can cause vessels moored/anchored offshore to break their moorings, drag their anchors, go adrift, or go aground. The system may also bring heavy rains. Vessels may sink if their bilge pump batteries fail. DOBOR recommends: doubling up on lines/safely deploying a second anchor; verifying your boat’s cabin is sealed; and ensuring your bilge pump is in operable condition with a fully charged battery.
