This a High Wind Warning and Wind Advisory message for Thursday, December 14th at 6:30 AM.
The National Weather Service has issued a High Wind Warning for Hawaii Island for Hamakua, North and South Kohala, and Ka`u Districts through Friday.
Sustained northeast winds of 25 to 45 MPH with localized gusts of over 60 MPH are expected.
The National Weather Service has also issued a Wind Advisory for North and South Kona, Puna, North and South Hilo Districts through Friday.
Sustained winds of 20 to 30 MPH with localized gusts of over 50 MPH are forecast.
Winds this strong can damage property, knock over trees, and make driving difficult and dangerous.
Due to the High Wind Warning and Wind Advisory;
Please secure outdoor items.
Stay clear of and report any downed trees, utility poles or lines to authorities.
Road closures could occur without notice.
Motorist, especially those in high profile vehicles, drive with caution.
