This is an important Department of Water Supply (DWS), County of Hawaii, message for Tuesday,
October 14, 2025.
Effective immediately and until further notice, the Department of Water Supply (DWS) has issued a
Water Conservation Notice for customers in the aforementioned areas. A Water Conservation Notice
requests affected customers reduce water usage by at least 10%.
Water conservation is needed due to the prolonged lack of rainfall and significant reduction in spring
flows.
Performing the following steps will help to conserve water:
Wash only full loads of laundry and dishes
Check faucets and pipes for leaks
Do not let water run when washing hands, shaving, or brushing teeth
Reduce showering times
All affected water customers should limit water use for dust control and irrigation. Find other watersaving tips by clicking on the “Conservation” tab at www.hawaiidws.org.
To reach the DWS, please call (808) 961-8790 or (808) 961-8050 during normal business hours, (808)
961-8790 for after-hour emergencies, or email: dws@hawaiidws.org.
The Department of Water Supply thanks affected customers for their understanding.
