Roman Reigns poses with WWE fan in Hawaii as he continues cancer fight

Wrestling superstar shocked the world when he announced he had been diagnosed with leukaemia in October for a second time

The Big Dog, real name Joe Anoa’I, shocked the world in October when he relinquished the Universal Championship after announcing he had been diagnosed with the deadly-disease for a second time.

Apart from an appearance at an American football game, a low-key visit to WWE’s Tribute to the Troops show, and posing for a picture with a cop, the 33-year-old has stayed away from the spotlight as he continues his health fight.

But his concerned supporters have received a new update on the condition of the former Shield member thanks to a fan.

Susanne Brunner revealed on Twitter that not only does Reigns still appear to be in great shape, he is still happy to pose with his fans.

After spotting him in Hawaii, Brunner shared a snap of Reigns and an associate of hers along with a caption saying: “Hayden’s day made! Look who we ran into at our hotel in Kauai… Roman Reigns! Nice guy.”

The Big Dog vowed to return to WWE as he continues to battle the deadly disease

Reigns made his first public appearance since his diagnosis became worldwide news in November when he watched his former college team Georgia Tech take on the University of Georgia Bulldogs.

The former Shield member said: “I’m the real Big Dog here. To hell with Georgia, baby.”

Reigns shocked the entire WWE Universe with his emotional speech confirming his illness live on Monday Night Raw.

He said: “The reality is my real name is Joe and I’d been living with leukaemia for 11 years… And unfortunately it’s back.

“I’m not going to lie, I’ll take every prayer you can send my way but I’m not looking for sympathy.

“I’m not looking for you to feel bad for me because I have faith.

“When I was 22 years old I was diagnosed with this and very quickly I was able to put it in remission. But I’m not going to lie, that was the hardest time of my life.

“I didn’t have a job, I didn’t have any money, I didn’t have a home and I had a baby on the way. And football was done with me.

“But do you know who gave me a chance? The team that gave me a chance was the WWE. After I’m done whooping leukaemia’s a** once again, I’m coming back home.

“I want to show my family, my friends, my children and my wife that when life throws a curveball at me, I am the type of man that will stand in that batter’s box.

“I will crowd the plate, I will choke up and I will swing for the fences every single time!”
